NORTH YORKSHIRE CAMPING - HIGH YEDMANDALE FARM. WEST AYTON 14 JUNE 2023

The weather is glorious, we are here for four nights to make the most of it!

This site is so remote up a one mile single track road with huge tractors etc coming up and down to the farmland at the top of the hill. But it is a very peaceful secluded site with only us here.

Our first day, headed to Thornton le Dale as I had a hair appointment previously booked, coffee in Baldersons before leaving the village to drive to May Beck where we did a super walk to Falling Foss, had tea and cake, saw the Hermitage a cave hewn out of a huge rock back in 1799 then back along the other side of the Beck.

Day two, one of Roy's favourite walks, last time we did it was so misty didn't see much. Today you could not ask for better weather. Walked from Ravenscar along the cinder path down to Stoupe Beck, along the beach to Boggle Hole, coffee at the the Youth Hostel and back along the Cleveland Way with picnic at the Peak Alum works - just beautiful!

Day three, a wonderful walk, one we do once a year to see the birds at Bempton Cliffs. Cloudy day but warm, drove to North Landing and walked the cliffs to Bempton RSPB boardwalk and back. Probably the best sightings we have had over the years away from the busy boardwalk area. Lots of kittiwake chicks and adorable puffins. A superb day!
