ZUGSPITZELAND AND LINDERHOF SCHLOSS

Moved about an hour away near to Garmish Partenkirchen within sight of the mighty Zugspitze at 2962 m. A very hot day so we took advantage of the free bus rides you seem to get at each campsite and went up to Eibsee, a pretty lake at the base of the Zugspitze cable car. We walked round the lake, took an hour and half and was so much cooler. Zugspitze summit remained shrouded in cloud.

Next day we drove short distance to Linderhof Castle, parked for 2-50 Euros and Roy had planned a "short" walk before seeing the castle. The walk took 5 hours, we walked for 2 hours with no views but trees up 2000ft and finally got a view! The air was quite blue! The traverse and drop down were not so bad despite Roy getting a severe cramp, my fitbit says I walked 7 miles. We got back to car park and walked into the park and castle which was free! Amazing to be able to walk round all the grounds and see all the schloss for free! The best bit was it was so quiet, all the "tourists" had left. A stunning castle where King Ludwig 11 spent 8 years, it was his favourite place.

THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT OF ROY'S SHORT WALK!

FINALLY A VIEW!

LOOK AT THIS PRETTY FLOWER HE SAYS! THINKS IT WILL TAKE MY MIND OF THE CLIMB
