SCOTLAND CONTINUED 27 MAY 22 OUR LAST DAY COAST WALK TO DUNSTANBURGH CASTLE, NEWTON BY THE SEA, EMBLETON BAY AND CRASTER

Sun shone almost all day but we had a strong wind, gusts of up to 40 it said.

We had a beautiful coastal walk, saw Dunstanburgh Castle close up then along the  beautiful white sandy  beach of Embleton Bay as far as Newton by the Sea then back to Craster for afternoon tea scones.

We have had the most wonderful time away, all my love and thanks to Roy my hero who planned all the campsites and walks and visits.

SCOTLAND CONTINUED 26 MAY 22 CALLANDER TO CRASTER

A clear and easy drive down to Craster in Northumberland, we were booked in for one night but the sun was shining so we checked if free for another night and decided to stay till Saturday.

We walked to Craster Tower then into Craster a pretty small coastal town famous for kippers and crabs. Shame the shop was closed as we arrived. Not so the pub where we enjoyed a drink overlooking the white horses on the windy sea.

SCOTLAND CONTINUED 25 MAY 22 GLENCOE TO CALLANDER

A very rainy drive through Glencoe with some overcast views of mountains. We did manage to spot what we think was an eagle hovering over 2 little lambs, poor pics but it was a long way off!

Arrived at Callander Woods campsite and walked into the town then up to Bracklinn Falls which were beautiful and the sun came out!

SCOTLAND CONTINUED 23 MAY 22 TURUS MARA BOAT TRIP

OH WHAT A PERFECT DAY – TURUS MARA BOAT TRIP

We had the most wonderful last day on Mull, drove over to Ulva ferry and spent 6 hours touring the Treshnish Islands and Staffa. We arrived at Lunga for a two hour stay, a bit of a climb up to a headland which was covered in guillemots. There were razorbills, Shags, Fulmars and of course the most gorgeous puffins, hundreds of them all posing for their photos! To add to this joy the weather was amazing sunshine and clear blue skies.

We had lunch watching the puffins then returned to the boat for a 50-minute ride to Staffa, with Mendelsohn’s Hebrides Overture, Fingal’s Cave playing on the boat we saw the amazing island and caves. After landing we walked across the stunning basalt rock to the entrance to Fingal’s Cave – beautiful!

How to end the perfect day – on the road back there were some guys with scopes, we stopped and saw a Sea Eagle (white tailed Eagle) sat in a fir tree – end of a perfect day!
