| WEST BAY |
Before leaving our one night campsite
we drove a short distance to the small seaside town of West Bay, it
was full of Shearings buses and older folk who fell out of the buses
and into the coffee shops. Roy likes to see all the harbours!

We arrived at the Camping &
Caravanning campsite at Corfe Castle, a smart site but no wifi! Shame
as I do like to do my blog and photos on an evening but will do when
home.
Sun was shining so we drove 5 miles
down to Swanage, another seaside town, we're certainly knocking all
these places off the visited list!
Had a lovely wander along sea front
then up to Peveril Point, stopping for Roy's ice cream and some half
price pasties for dinner. On the way back we were one of the first
cars on the scene of an accident, all the services arrived but don't think anyone was seriously hurt but a lot of spillage of fuel on the
road. We managed to turn round and take a back road home.

LULWORTH COVE AND DURDLE DOOR WALK
Monday was a fabulous sunny day as we
drove to Lulworth Cove and walked around the cove then up and over
the hill to Durdle Door. Had lunch on the beach then walked over the
back hill and returned to Lulworth for the usual icecream. On the way
back we stopped in Wareham for some supplies and lounged by the river
watching the boats and hundreds of fish swim up river (mullet – a
man told us)
On the way back we stopped to take a
photo of Corfe Castle in the sun. We may explore it another day.

VISIT TO SEE ROY'S DAD AND STUDLAND
COAST WALK
After a very windy night we drove into
Bournemouth to visit Roy's Dad and his wife, we enjoyed a few hours
reminiscing with them and he enjoyed showing us his medals from the
war including a recent one received from the Russian Embassy in honour
of his service with the British Navy on the Russian Convoys. Amazing
at 95, Roy said he hopes he gets his genes!
We had a picnic lunch by the bay then
drove to Studland to do a pretty 4 mile circular walk along the cliff
tops where we were blown to bits!

| THE BELL ROPES |
KINGSTON COASTAL CIRCULAR WALK
Anyone in their right mind would not
have attempted a cliff walk today, 48 MPH winds, but when were we
ever in our right minds!
We did short drive to Kingston and
headed up the climb to Swyre Head then down to the coast and along
the coastal path where the winds were quite frightening at times.
Even Roy had to hang on to the fence in one part. We found the windy
most place at the top of the cliff for our lunch, sat on a stone seat
which I swear was moving!
We've had a wonderful time here in
Devon and Dorset, home tomorrow.
Our journey home was quite horrendous,
took 10 hours, queued for hours on M1 and decided to go via Selby
which was a good move. Torrential rain and flooded roads, we happily
arrived home at 7pm
