CAMPING DU VIVIER AUX CARPES. SERAUCOURT-LE -GRAND - FRANCE FINALE

Our last campsite, a beautiful one in a small village just outside Ste Quentin.
The weather was exceptional, we had a wander in the small village and found the Canal du St Quentin but couldn't find a way on to the towpath so retraced our steps, and found the canal basin, the river Somme and a huge Carp and Trout fishing area. We then  set off to find the British Cemetery signposted with no mileage. Luckily it was just in the village up a quiet leafy lane set atop the rolling hills.
It's the first war cemetery we have visited and I have to admit it made me cry. We were the only ones there and it was so peaceful and well kept. Such an emotional place.

We have  had the most wonderful time here in France - we will return!

CAMPING DE MARS IN CORDELLE ON THE LOIRE

Drove north for the day through rolling French scenery, winding roads following a convoi exceptionalle for a few miles which really sickened the manic French drivers as no one could pass and we were first in line so we got a wide berth by all the heavy trucks coming the other way.

We arrived at a pretty campsite near Cordelle at the side of the Loire and again we seemed to be the only ones here.

Next day we drove the short distance to the "bestest campsite" in France, back to Fours and spending a few days with Jim and Jenny again.

GORGES DU TARN

We woke to 4oC and thick fog but we were blessed as the sun drove the mists away and we had the most glorious day visiting les Gorges du Tarn and Jonte.
Stunning villages perched on rocks, chateaux, beautiful views - just perfect!
