EUROPEAN
TRIP 30 MAY TO 11 JULY 2019
A
great start to our 6 week trip, we travelled on Hull Zeebrugge ferry
with Jim and Jenny my brother and his wife who were returning back to
their French home.
Wonderful
food and great company.
Next
day we had an hour delay getting through Customs. Jim and Jenny were
spending our first night with us, we arrived around 4 ish at Les
Mazures Camping du Lac des Vielles Forges.
What
a performance getting sites, choose your own they said. We set of
driving round the terraced site, came to a dead end blocked with big
rocks, Roy moved one and on we went, more rocks with a narrow gap
which Roy managed to put the front of the caravan on, Jim and Roy
heaving on this rock and finally went and tipped the other rock over
so Roy could get through. Then Jenny and I went off to choose, found
two opposite each other and I managed to upset a couple who decided
they would have ours and started backing in. Said they didn't understand English but they drove off in a hell of a huff!
And
finally we set up wine beer food then a walk to the lake and more
drinks at the bar while listening to great duo a singer and
accordian player. Even managed a dance with Roy and my brother until Lola
his dog wanted him back. Superb start.

Said
bye to them next day and we headed east but first campsite was full,
finally got to Burtoncourt, peaceful site but electric only 6amps
wouldn't work. Roy tried everything then ages later remembered that
water heater takes loads of electricity, turned it off and sorted.
