LOUGHRIGG FELL RAMBLE

Our last day, a 6+ mile ramble over Loughrigg Fell - beautiful!
Weather still very warm, we climbed up the the fell and wandered over the pretty fells
Lots of flowers around and stunning distance views of yesterdays hike of Crinkle Crags.
The Lakes have been superb, we will be back I'm sure!

CRINKLE CRAGS HIKE

Second day and we drove over to the Langdales area, parked at Dungeon Ghyll Hotel and hiked Crinkle Crags. Another 9 mile or so hike which took longer than yesterday not helped by Roy's map reading, we missed a path and had to plow our way up the side of a tough hillside to get to the junction to begin the trail over the five peaks of Crinkle Crags.
It was a hot day but made bearable with a lovely breeze up top.
A tough hike but at least the trail down past Red tarn was easy as paved with huge stones most of the way instead of rough loose stones.

Ended our hard work with a pint of cider for me and shandy for Roy - bliss!

THE LOVELINESS OF THE LAKES

Four nights away again, this time to one of my favourite places in England - The glorious Lake District.
Hill of Oaks Caravan Park near Windermere is where we managed to get booked in.
The weather was glorious as we left cloudy overcast York, sunshine all the way!

First day hike, we drove over to Coniston and did Coniston Old Man. 9 miles round trip, lovely weather not too hot but not one of my best days walks. I found it hard going, mainly on the way back.
