Making the best of a low cloud, rain forecast day, we drove 12 miles to Kilmarie and did a five mile there and back to Camasunary Beach - and it didn't rain until we got back! a well defined path but very rocky at times.

Thank you Skye for a fabulous day. We left at 8.30 and drove the Trotternish loop. Walked to Old Man of Storr, wonderful! Saw pretty waterfalls, the got on the single track road to the Quiraing. Walked the lovely path below the fantastic rocks. Coffee and muffins at Old Man. Picnic at Quiraing. A perfect day!

SCOTLAND AND SKYE HOLIDAY THURSDAY 18 MAY 2023
A rain all day kind of day, we drove to Kylerhea Otter hide at lunchtime, walked the mile to it and spent an hour looking for the elusive otter, saw two seals in the murky water. Drove over the Skye Bridge to Plockton late afternoon and the sun came out!! A pretty coastal village.

SCOTLAND AND SKYE HOLIDAY WEDNESDAY 17 MAY 2023
No rain last night but forecast today but lucky us, we managed a 4 and half mile walk without a drop!
It looked quite easy, along the rocky shore and back alongside the forest on a trail.
He was right saying - after an eternity of walking on the slippy basalt! Took ages but finally reached the bay before turning back to Broadford.
A breezy cool walk that took 3 and half hours!

SCOTLAND AND SKYE HOLIDAY TUESDAY 16 MAY 2023
Rainy night and NO leaks, Roy's idea works up to now!
Left early to get to Mallaig for the 11.30 boat to Skye, had a lovely coffee/cake in coffee shop and waited to board. We didn't leave till 12 and just took about 45 minutes, arrived in some rain which soon stopped. Arrived at Camping Skye just after 2pm, set up and sun came out..... and the midges!

SCOTLAND AND SKYE HOLIDAY MONDAY 15 MAY 2023
A rainy Sunday night, we woke to find the sky light had leaked again! Roy has spent hours on fixing this leak. One wet end of the cushion, nothing we can do about it while away but Roy decided that we would alter the position of the van as when at home in the drive it didn't leak. We are now walking about with a list to starboard!, like being on the boat again!
The rain eased by 11, we drove to Glencoe and hiked the four and half mile up and back walk up to the Lost Valley between two of the three Sisters. All uphill then all downhill! The lost valley is a hidden large flat ice- flattened valley, in times past, stolen cattle were hidden here and was also a place of refuge after the infamous Massacre of Glencoe. A superb walk with very few sprinkles.
