After days of celebrating Amanda my nieces 50th birthday we drove to Orchard caravan park in Reeth, lovely site £ 27.50 a night with electric.
Sunny and very hot on Sunday as we arrived, next day the weather changed and was cloudy, some rain in the morning, We drove to Muker and had lunch in car park while it finished raining then did a 5 mile loop up the tops and down to Ivelet Bridge and back along the river. Took 2 and half hours. Back to site by 4.45.
Tuesday weather was dire! rain forecast for the whole day, we set off from the campsite at 11.45 in the dry! Did a 4 mile loop from Reeth up to Arkle Beck and back. So lucky the rain only began as we headed back and didn't stop. Took our picnic back to the caravan to enjoy with a cuppa. At least we got out!
Wednesday was warm and dry with sunshine and clouds. We drove to Langthwaite and walked beside the Arkle Beck before heading up into the moorland where we promptly got wrong, well the path had collapsed at the side of the beck, Roy attempted to find the other end above the river but the track was overgrown with bracken so we retraced our steps and took the sign to Booze Moor, another wrong path, back to the signpost and walked over the moor on a good track to Booze and back.
