BARNARD CASTLE TRIP CONT 7.7.22 HIGH FORCE AND UPPER TEESDALE CIRCULAR WALK

At last a day of summer, 23oC wall to wall sunshine and a gentle breeze.

We drove to High Force Hotel and did a 10 mile walk, first to see the top of High Force which was spectacular, then through upland pasture and more desolate upland landscape of Thistle Green descending to the River Tees and following its course with a final leg through farmland. Don't you just love cows, we couldn't get them to move as they were blocking the gate, so we climbed over the fence and shooed them with my poles, they didn't move much so we shot up the hill away from the young ones and their mothers. Almost back and more cows and these followed us to the gate, our pace got faster and faster!

A super day!
