Thursday 30 May saw us driving to Gill Head Farm campsite Troutbeck near Penrith for 4 nights to take part on Saturday in the 13 mile hike from Patterdale along the edge of Ullswater and upland to Dalemain Mansion.
Blessed with sunshine on Friday, we did a short walk to Aira Force then on to Dockray for a picnic in a lovely area made by the locals for the Queens Platinum Jubilee. We did attempt to do a longer walk but "fortunately" we could not find the trail! I did not want to jigger myself up today! Drove to Glenridding for the ice-cream kid!

SATURDAY 1ST JUNE TREK 13 DAY
Our last day, Roy asked if I fancied "just" going to Scales Tarn at the base of Blencathra. After an hour and half climbing up and same coming down, it didn't seem like a Just walk! A cloudier day, me slightly suffering from aches from yesterday, Roy never seems to ache anywhere, we did enjoy lunch at the tarn.
