LIQUID SUNSHINE ON OUR MILFORD SOUND CRUISE

Milford Sound, what can I say, a beautiful road driving to this famous fiord, rain most of the day but as the locals say this is Milford Sound, its rainforest!
Milford Village has 200 days of rain per year on average and 265 inches of rain per year.
Our cruise here was much shorter than Doubtful Sound, just 1 hour 45minutes. The rain did ease slightly for a short period but Roy and I braved the outside for the whole trip, the waterfalls were stunning even if the views were misty. A superb cruise!

When we left Milford and drove back over the high pass it continued to pour and the temporary waterfalls got bigger and the rivers rose. We drove about 30 miles to our Conservation campsite, basic site with toilet. Rain poured and a thunderstorm joined in! Thank goodness for our camper van, poor devils in tents must have been drenched! It rained the whole night but next morning.....sunshine as we drove away from misty Milford Sound.
