EGMONT NATIONAL PARK

A longish drive today with quite boring scenery, at Stratford we took off into the slopes of Mount Taranaki/Egmont. A centrepoint of Egmont National Park, the solitary 8261 ft Mount Taranaki/Egmont, a dormant volcano. This should have been a great sight but due to the very warm weather the clouds developed over the top and we saw nothing!

We did have a short walk to the pretty Dawson Falls.

WHALEBONES AND A MAORI PROVERB WHICH HAS A MORAL - WE SHOULD NOT COVET SOMEONE ELSES GOODS OR ENJOY ANOTHER PERSONS PROPERTY.

CAN YOU SEE MOUNT TARANAKI IN THE BACKGROUND? CLOUD DUE TO HEAT, CANT HAVE EVERYTHING!

STILL CANT SEE IT JUST THE TREE TOPS

AND THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD SEE! BEAUTIFUL ISN'T IT!

THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF THE CLOUD!
