PURIRI BAY TO TAURANGA BAY

Another stunningly beautiful day, we travelled to Russell and had a look round the shops, managed to get myself some Maori symbol earrings from a craft show, then took the $13 ferry to save over an hour by road. Headed up past Bay of Islands to Whangaroa area and camped at a gorgeous site on the edge of the beach at Tauranga Bay. Leisurely walk along the beach paddling and birdwatching, glass of beer, some mussels – what more can you ask!
