TONGARIRO TO ROTORUA

THE SMALL STREAM YESTERDAY A RAGING TORRENT TODAY!

A night of torrential rain, we woke to find a huge pool of water on Roy's side of the bed and water coming through somewhere near the window, couldn’t find out where, bedding, curtains and cushion soaked but we had to laugh as we remembered talking to a German on a site who was admiring our van, he said they'd had to use the shower curtain in theirs to stop the rain coming in!
Sun came out as we got to Lake Taupo so coffee time and stuff out to dry, worked well in hot sun. Into Taupo and rain showers interspersed with sunshine. Saw some beautiful falls with huge amounts of water coming down after last nights rain. Arrived in Rotorua and got a lovely site with all facilities. Booked for Mitai Maori Village show tomorrow night, time to relax and catch up.
Don't you know you're in a geothermal area - the smell of sulphur is everywhere!
