LE BOURGET DU LAC TO VAL d'ISERE

VAL D'ISERE

The day began rainy but cleared as we drove south west towards the mountains, an easy journey on toll road and then the final climb up a good road to Val d'Isere at 6058ft. A beautiful campsite through Val d'Isere, we were unsure just where it was and started up the road signed Col d'Iseran!! Not another col! But no, the site was there, Les Richardes, 33-60 euros for 2 nights, it closes in three days time and we were the only ones there. Got to practice my french with the lovely host but she did speak some English.
Had a walk around Val d'Isere, found wifi at tourist information office and data roaming worked in the village. Lots of new hotels going up, with completion dates for just before Christmas and they've not even got the shell built yet. Sunshine but temperature is only 8oC.
